Speech-Language Therapy
Therapists provide assessment and diagnosis, recommend prescriptive goals and provide remediation where needed. Therapists focus their efforts to meet the special needs of individual students, including delayed auditory processing, concept formation, conversational skills, articulation and vocabulary growth. Therapy may include the use of assistive technology such as computers or communication devices, as indicated by student need.
Services available to students enrolled in the daily program at Speech and Language Development Center:
- Therapists provide a variety of speech and language assessments
- Therapists develop individualized goals and objectives
- Service models include individualized sessions, small groups, classroom collaboration and multi-disciplinary approach with staff
- Consultation and training to support staff and families
